Check Your Dental Insurance Benefits
As the end of the year is quickly approaching, we like to remind you to use your remaining dental insurance. In order to get the most out of your insurance benefits before the New Year begins, it’s important to take a look at what your insurance company will still cover before your benefits expire.
You pay for your dental insurance benefits, and are entitled to use the full amount allocated to you each year. If you don’t use the full amount by December 31st, 2017, any unused dollars will be lost.
Tammy Davenport, a contributor for the About.com Dentistry section, wrote a very helpful article about why it is so important to use your dental insurance before the end of the year.
The following are reasons why she suggests maximizing your dental benefit dollar for 2017:
Yearly Maximum- Unused benefits do not typically roll over, therefore, you should try to meet your annual maximum if possible. Remember, your 2017 dental benefits or flexible spending account will expire at the end of December.
Dental Insurance Deductibles
This may increase next year, so using your insurance now will ensure that you have locked in the current deductible until the end of the year.
Dental Premiums
You are paying your premiums. Why not take advantage of benefits? Remember, regular exams and cleanings are essential in preventing dental disease.
Dental Problems Could Worsen
You may not think that you currently have any dental problems, but unless you visit your dentist, you don’t know for sure. Why take the chance? An existing condition could turn into something much more serious down the road. Keep in mind that a simple checkup may help to avoid future dental complications that could potentially cause you to exceed future dental benefits.
If you would like to maximize your benefits, please call our office at (318) 869-2593 to set up an appointment at your earliest convenience. We want your out-of-pocket expenses kept to a minimum, and your New Year to start out healthy and happy. We hope that this reminder is helpful to you.
